Off the Tracks stays the course in Schuylerville

July 24th, 2015

Off the Tracks entered Friday’s $150,000 Schuylerville S. (G3) on Saratoga’s opening day boasting a 4 1/4-length debut maiden win at Gulfstream Park. The bay filly was favored in that five-furlong event, but this time around exited the gates at 8-1 to Positively Royal’s 6-5 favoritism.

The juvenile miss showed just why she went off favored in her career debut when drawing off in the Schuylerville to an easy 3 1/4-length win under jockey Luis Saez as Positively Royal finished last.

Off the Tracks settled into a pressing spot just outside of pacesetter Moment is Right, who captured the Astoria S. last out on June 4. That dark bay lass posted splits of :22.15 and :45.52, but was unable to withstand Off the Tracks as she easily surged past on the turn.

The Roderick Rodriguez trainee easily pulled away under Saez to finish six furlongs over the fast main track in 1:11.27.

The race went off just in time as soon after a tornado warning was issued for Saratoga County and the next race was delayed.

Off the Tracks was probably back in the barn by that point enjoying her second career victory. The J Stables colorbearer has earned $111,600 by going two-for-two thus far.

By Curlin and out of Harve de Grace, who is not to be confused with 2011 Horse of the Year Havre de Grace, Off the Tracks is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Concord Point.
