Open look about Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies

Successive grade one victories in California have hurled Moonshine Memories into favoritism for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on November 4th, but it’s still a race where the form lines aren’t easy to establish.
Moonshine Memories won both the Del Mar Debutante Stakes (G1) and the Chandelier Stakes (G1) in a very professional manner – getting into a stalking position quickly, attacking on the final turn, and extending to win comfortably from Alluring Star and Piedi Bianchi, who are back again for the Juvenile Fillies.
The Chandelier Stakes effort also showed Moonshine Memories has no problems with 1 1/16 miles. But at this point it’s difficult to work out just how good she is compared to the fillies heading over from the East.
Separationofpowers won her maiden and though she was well beaten into third in the Spinaway Stakes (G1), she returned in devastating fashion to win the Frizette Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park from Caledonia Road and Maya Malibu. All three Frizette placegetters take their place at Del Mar.
Meanwhile, Heavenly Note looked very good indeed when winning the Alcibiades Stakes (G1) at Keeneland from Princess Warrior. The inside draw at Del Mar doesn’t help Heavenly Note, but if she gets the right run she looks a classy filly. Princess Warrior, who started favorite in the Alcibiades, will have another go at Del Mar.
Heavenly Note is one of three fillies that trainer Mark Casse starts in the race. Wonder Gadot looked good when winning the Mazarine Stakes (G3) on the Woodbine all-weather track Oct. 7, but it’s unclear how good her opponents were. His other runner is Gio Game, who tackles stakes company for the first time after an outstanding maiden win at Keeneland.
Another worth considering is Blonde Bomber. She may not have beaten much when winning the Our Dear Peggy Stakes at Gulfstream Park Sept. 30, but she couldn’t have been more impressive doing so and she may be worth throwing in the mix.
Stainless comes into the race after finishing second on turf in the Jessamine Stakes (G3) to Juvenile Fillies’ Turf favorite Rushing Fall. The maiden Tell Your Mama completes the field.
Moonshine Memories is understandably the favorite given her consistency and professionalism, and it would be a surprise if she doesn’t run well. Separationofpowers and Heavenly Note can be expected to be in the hunt, but it might pay to cast the betting net wide when trying to figure this race out. There could be some nice returns if you get it right.
