Palm Beach Friday Matinee Preview 5/8/2015

Great start to the racing weekend on tap with the Card this afternoon at Palm Beach! One of the greatest super sprinters of all time Kb’s Like A Fox goes for career win #59 in Race 4, along with the newly crowned #1 Ranked greyhound here Pat C Short Cut looking for her 7^th win in a row in the Race 14. Great action all afternoon long to watch and play the BetAmerica Way!

Here are the top races I’ll be following for the Friday Matinee at “The Beach.”

 

*Kb's Like A Fox*

Race 4 Grade A 301 Yards

“The Fox” has just been outstanding to watch his entire career. The Track Champ from last season gets the outside 8 box, which he has found moderate success out of this season. Missed out on a win last time out and has a history of bouncing back to find the winner’s circle in his next start.

 

I usually never go against Fox for wins, but I believe #3 Aye Doctor Ron from the Janie Carroll Kennel is in a better spot in this one. Setup nicely on the inside between two racers that can't outbreak him. Great play for a Win/Place/Show because he has hit the ticket in 7 straight.

Possible longshot pick could come from #5 Liberty Trail, who has 23 career wins and has found her swagger back in the last few months.

Going with The Doctor to take the win here.

*Short Cut*

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

All eyes of the greyhound world will be on the new King of this track #4 Pat C Short Cut from the suddenly hot Koppe, Staats & Collins Kennel. 6 straight wins for a sprinter at Palm Beach is very impressive and “Shorty” has made it look easy lately. Can’t wait to watch this powerful greyhound tear up the Royal Palm Course as we head into the summer racing schedule.

 

Best early speed, which is always a factor here comes from #5 CRT Majestic from The Champions Racing Team.  Probably would need trouble behind her to pull the big upset but is a 71% board hitter on the season.

Can’t go against Short Cut here as she should cruise to victory.

Race 15 Grade TA 738 Yards

I have been a huge fan of the Friday tradition Palm Beach started last year of having the best Marathon racers at the club going paw to paw every week.

There’s only 2 Grade A greyhounds in this race, which is an automatic for any exotic plays I have.

#3 Atascocita Jolie from Suncoast Racing is the most electric closer in South FLA. Is a guarantee to be one of the last greyhounds to the first turn, but is a must watch on the backstretch. Amazingly has hit the ticket in all 23 of her starts this season.

#2 Kb’s Santa Lucia from top Kennel Rader Racing has the best early pop of any of these racers. Handicapping her races I always find myself asking the biggest question....will she be able to hold that speed all the way or will a closer catch?

I’ve got a hunch the early speed holds up today and Lucia heads back to victory lane.
