Palm Beach Saturday Matinee Preview 5-16-2015

May 15th, 2015

Superstar Saturday is taken to a whole new level at Palm Beach this afternoon. A record 10 Grade A instant classics will be on the Card and any top greyhound you can think of here most likely is running today.

It will be a fantastic day not only at The Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, but also in West Palm Beach as well.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Saturday Matinee at “The Beach.”

Race 2 Grade A 545 Yards

This race really comes down to 2 greyhounds in my opinion.

#5 Kb’s Gold Rider

Kb's Gold Rider from top Kennel Rader Racing has 17 wins on the season, including an over 50% winning percentage.

Should be able to bust out of the box today and be somewhere on the ticket.

#4 JS ToHotToHandle

JS ToHotToHandle from owner Shannon Henry has been one impressive rookie this season. 16 wins and just had her two month Quinela streak ended last time out.

I’m looking for a bounce back effort from this greyhound who really has been too hot to handle this season.

Picks 4-5-1-7

Race 13 Grade A 545 Yards

Speedy Pebbles Greyhound Racing Dog

#7 JS SpeedyPebbles

One of the best things a fan of this track can hear….”SpeedyPebbles is running today.”

“The Queen of Palm Beach” #7 JS SpeedyPebbles from the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team goes for career win #52  and her massive worldwide following will be closely watching.

Pebbles is one of the top rushers in the entire Club and will have her hands full with a top field this afternoon.

Relativity

#2 Relativity

Relativity from owner Chris Straka has put together a solid Spring campaign, winning three times and looking even more like the racer that hit the winner’s circle 29 times last season. Loves the inside and should be right near the front by the first turn.

Possible longshot could come from #6 Food Bank from Rader Racing who really surprised me with his 29.29 secs blazing victory last time out.

#PebblesNation celebrates once again tonight for their star.

Picks 7-2-6-1

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards

#7 Pat C Short Cut

If you want to see one of the most powerful greyhounds you have ever seen, Pat C Short Cut from the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team is a must watch this afternoon.

BetAmerica’s #1 racer here has been simply amazing this season, reeling off 18 wins and firing off some of the fastest splits in the history of the Royal Palm Course.

Finished a disappointing 4th last time out, so a rebound here is highly likely.

#2 SM Houndman

Short Cut will have to deal with “The Pride of Toledo” #2 SM Houndman from owners Mike Seeger & Nancy Meyer. Houndman loves the inside like I love the Florida sunshine and is sitting in a perfect spot this afternoon. If he gets the lead in this one, not even Short Cut could catch him.

Watch out for newcomer #4 O Ya IzzyBelle, who is making her debut in A Grade after reeling off three straight W’s. I’m going with Short Cut for the win here, but don’t be surprised if Houndman pulls the upset.

Picks 7-2-4-3

Top Pick Race 1 - #2 Java Beretta

Enjoy all of the awesome racing action greyhound and thoroughbred fans today!
