Palm Beach Saturday Matinee Preview 5-30-2015

Lets get the weekend racing started at Palm Beach! Fantastic card today that features two of the top greyhounds at the track Pat C Short Cut & SM Houndman facing off in the finale. Rooney’s Ale Cup Champion Kb’s Gold Rider tries to continue his success into today in the 6^th.

Here are the top races I will be following for the Saturday Matinee at “The Beach.”

 

 

*Kb's Gold Rider*

Race 6 Grade A 545 Yards

One of the most talented greyhounds at Palm Beach is #4 Kb’s Gold Rider from Rader Racing. 50% winner on the season with 18 W’s on his resume. Will be the favorite in this one and he should be.

Look out for #7 HotFoot Pink from Suncoast Racing to challenge, as she had a solid Place in the Memorial Day Feature Race.

Watch out for #3 Bart Iron Paws, who has hit the ticket in six of seven starts here (86%)

I’m banking on Gold Rider continuing his Stakes win on Memorial Day into today’s Matinee.

Race 12 Grade A 545 Yards

#2 PJ Smoke Em Out from the Agganis Kennel will no doubt lead this race. But when you are handicapping a race with him in it, you have to wonder if he can hold on to his early lead.

The 32 time winner is one of the best lid flippers in the entire club but has a history of giving it up at go time. That’s when I look for a closer.

#8 Small Bev from owner “Seattle” Leslie Csokasy has really turned up her game in May, posting 3 wins and showing some outstanding finishing kicks. Loves mid track and should have a ton of room on the outside to run down the early speed.

#3 Food Bank from top Kennel Rader Racing is one to watch, as he ran a ridiculous 29.21 secs win last time out. Can he repeat again today?

*SM Houndman*

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards

The showdown that will be worth the price of admission this afternoon happens in the finale.

#7 Pat C Short Cut from the Koppe, Staats & Collins Team was the #1 ranked racer in April with how well he was running at the time. Amazingly has only been able to get 1 win this month, while settling for three Place finishes. Will have to dominate on the backstretch to close out a victory here.

My money will be on the “Pride of Toledo” #2 SM Houndman from owner Mike Seeger & Nancy Meyer. Loves the inside to the tune of 4 straight wins on the rail and has already taken out some of the best greyhounds here (including Short Cut) this season. Has a great chance to snag the lead here and if that happens, it will be goodbye for the rest of this field.

Look out for one of the most versatile athletes at Palm #8 PJ Timeless to snag a spot on the board.

The Houndmmannnn continues his outstanding rookie campaign with a win here to end the Matinee.
