Palm Beach Superstar Sunday Preview 8-9-2015
Superstar Sunday is in full effect today, as Palm Beach sends some of its top greyhounds out to compete this afternoon. The Feature Race of the Day will come in the 14th, with the best 3/8ths milers going head to head, along with potential superstar Oaks Maddy looking to grab a piece of the season wins lead in the finale 15th. Fantastic Card all around.
Here are the top races I will be following for the Sunday Matinee at “The Beach.”
Race 10 Grade A 545 Yards
Owner Steve Sarras loves to name his greyhounds after his beloved New England Patriot stars that usually have great names but also outstanding games as well.
#3 Winta Garoppolo is no exception.
A favorite for next months Puppy Stakes Title, Garoppolo has been impressive so far this season. A blistering 29.36 secs victory early this season, plus showing fabulous breaking and closing skills has this greyhound making a name for herself here.

#7 HotFoot Rihanna from Suncoast Racing has alternated wins and board misses this entire season. Finished 5th last time out, which means she probably will be near the front today. Great lid flipper who has the ability to hang with any top field.
Derby Champion #5 Pat C Brightly is a must play in any exotics you go with this afternoon, as she has hit the ticket in a staggering 88% of her races this season.
Garoppolo looks like a potential Stakes winner and should get the victory here this afternoon.

Race 14 Grade A 545 Yards
As advertised, this race should be an instant classic with all of the firepower lining up in this one.
#2 Mrl Getting Even from B & B Racing has just been on fire since the new season started. Has the top three times on the “Rhonda” Course since the beginning of July and has the best close of any greyhound at this distance. Goes for three in a row this afternoon.
#4 Paid Vacation will try to get it in to win for owner Henry Chin this afternoon. Has the best rush of this crew and has hit the ticket in all 7 contests this season. Will most likely have the lead in this one…but can he hold on will be the big handicapping question.
#8 Fraulein Morgan is also a must play on exotic tickets because of the 86% board hitting percentage this season.
Gettin Even is the best out there right now and I’m going with him again to get it done.

Race 15 Grade A 545 Yards
There is no hotter racer right now at Palm Beach then #5 Oaks Maddy from Rader Racing.
Kennel owner Norm Rader told us on The Backstretch Show (959ThePalm.com) that this young greyhound was going to be special a few months ago and he has been spot on so far. The only racer to go under 29.50 secs three times this season and has finished in the Quiniela in all 8 starts. Got her best victory to date over JS SpeedyPebbles last Tuesday.
Look out for “Sizzle” #8 JS ToHotToHandle from owner Shannon Henry who is starting to heat up once again. The 20 time winner from last season has won two straight and is sitting in a nice spot on the outside this afternoon.
“The Friendly Greyhound” #2 Turbo Casper could be a nice long shot pick with his lifetime success in rail post positions.
Maddy looks too prolific to go against her as she wins the finale 15th.
