Palm Beach Weekly Wrap Up 6/26/2016
We are at the conclusion of the 2015-2016 season and even with just a few racing days left, there's still championships to be decided. There has been so many fantastic stories from this season that we will be highlighting starting next week. For now, lets take a look at this week's top stories at "The Beach."
Track Championship Chase - (Season Wins Total)
Atascocita Camry - 28 Wins
Ethel Is Here - 27 Wins
Barts Dublin - 27 Wins
With only 4 days left in the season, we now know who will hold at least a piece of the Track Championship. Atascocita Camry from Suncoast Racing clinched a share yesterday by defeating a top Grade TA field that included Ethel Is Here and breaking the three way tie at the top. This is Suncoast's first Championship since Atascocita Henri brought home gold in 2012.
The double stakes finalist has consistently put together outstanding efforts all season long. With her patented fire breaking skills and tough on the lead style, Camry heated up at the right time by winning her last 4 races. Just like Kb's Like A Fox did last season, this chase has come down to who is running the best late and Camry has proven she was up for the challenge.
Palm Beach has reported that Camry's season is done with the finale happening this Thursday, June 30th. With these developments, Ethel (pictured) and Dublin both can grab a share of Camry's new trophy if they are victorious this week. "The Irish" Dublin will get the start on Wednesday and Ethel on Thursday. As we've said all year long, this was going to go right down to the wire and it has played out exactly as predicted.
Big Bubba Continues To Sizzle
After losing his 8 race winning streak on Father's Day in the Award Feature, JustDoInMyThing from the Janie Carroll Kennel took out his frustrations last Friday by sizzling a 29.17 secs burner on the Royal Palm Course. This split was the third fastest sprint time we've all season long, further cementing that this Hollywood transfer is legit. "Bubba" is a huge young prospect going into next season that will be worth following.

The Russian Returns
Recent Puppy Stakes Champ Flying Russian from Rader Racing ended his long losing streak in Saturday's Matinee winning by just 0.01 secs against a solid top field. This is a greyhound who has a lot of ability and I'm interested to see if he can heat up next season after grinding out this rookie campaign. A 71% board hitter all season long is a good start.

Top Greyhound/Races of The Season
A tradition we have at BetAmerica is at the conclusion of the racing season, we like to put together a few special lists celebrating the best races we've seen and the greyhounds that gave us some amazing entertainment. Starting July 1st after the season concludes, we'll start showing the Top 10 races from the year at Palm Beach on our Facebook/Twitter feeds. Our monthly Top 10 Rankings will feature the most outstanding racers from the entire season and the accomplishments they were able to achieve. Lots of outstanding moments to pick from in what certainly has to be one of the most historic in the 84 years this track has been running. One of my favorite times of the year for sure.
Enjoy the final days of the season race fans!
