Pick 4 of the Week: Gulfstream Park Saturday
The Pick 4 of the Week will take place at Gulfstream Park on the Pegasus World Cup undercard on Saturday.
Race 2 Wager
- $1 Pick 4: 5 with 2,6,9,11 with 3,5,7 with 3,6,9,11 ($48)
Race 2 – Maiden Special Weight
The seven-furlong dash on the main strip attracted nine sophomores, but I feel that it’s all about one contender. Trainer Todd Pletcher will unveil #5 Disruptor, a $1.15 million yearling purchase who is training in swift fashion. By fantastic sire Gun Runner, the chestnut doesn’t face the deepest of fields and I expect him to win in fairly easy fashion as a single to kick off the ticket under Irad.
Race 3 – Allowance
Turf allowance event for the boys attracted an overflow group of 16. #9 Saratoga Flash is not overly consistent, but the Saffie Joseph trainee appreciates this surface and seems like a nice fit in the group. The Laoban seven-year-old tired after leading to the stretch in the Fort Lauderdale (G2) most recently, but the gelding will fare much better against this field under Tyler Gaffalione.
Tropical Park Derby runner-up #6 Full Nelson, Mike Maker’s #2 Atone, and multiple Group 1 victor #11 Raptor’s will make the ticket, as well.

Race 4 – Handicap
This two-turn test on the All Weather will feature 10 fillies and mares in a competitive contest. I’ll include multiple contenders in the second leg. Australian invader #3 Tutta La Vita, who was purchased for more than $2 million in 2024, will make her second run in the U. S. for Ignacio Correas. The five-year-old mare showed good late life on the local lawn here in December and is a must-use with Irad Ortiz, Jr. retaining the mount.
#7 Dana’s Beauty romped to a 4 1/2-length score in the My Charmer S. at Turfway Park in her last performance and looks to be the one to beat for Mike Maker. The seven-year-old has won her last trio of runs on the synthetic and will be forwardly placed from the start beneath Luis Saez. #5 Sand and Sea shows a 9-5-2-1 lifetime mark on the All Weather for trainer Riley Mott, which includes a 6-4-1-1 mark at Gulfstream. Junior Alvarado has the call.
Race 5 – Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint S.
A full field will run five-eighths on the green in the tough closing leg. California import #3 Mucho Del Oro has won a pair of Grade 3 races over his last trio of outings and has to be given respect for Doug O’Neill. The dark bay gelding has never been better and will be forcing the pace from the break beneath Antonio Fresu.
#6 No Nay Hudson is not a win machine but he is more than capable on his best day for Wesley Ward. The five-year-old gelding won in his lone prior race on the oval and will receive a nice stalking trip throughout under Junior Alvarado.
Grade 1 victor #9 Nobals beat a really good horse at Woodbine last time and is the one to beat for Larry Rivelli. The Noble Mission gelding will be awfully tough to deny with his best performance.
And I’ll also toss in #11 Reef Runner at a big number. The David Fawkes pupil is an underrated turf sprinter who had a positive prep on the course in advance of Saturday.
