Pick 6 carryovers at Keeneland, Santa Anita, and Aqueduct
A handful of non-jackpot carryovers, including three Pick 6 prize pools, are up for grabs across the country.
In addition, Keeneland bettors may want to check out the $125 Keeneland Feeder to 10/27 Churchill Downs KDBC/BCBC Qualifier tournament. Bet your entire $75 bankroll across at least five races at Keeneland for a chance to win an entry into the 10/27 $1,000 Churchill Downs KDBC/BCBC tournament. The complete rules can be viewed here.
Keeneland, Race 4: $190,971 Pick 6 carryover (2:36 p.m. ET)
The feature event in Keeneland’s $1 Pick 6 is Race 8, the Dowager (G3) for fillies and mares racing 1 1/2 miles on turf. #7 Chop Chop (5-1) won the Bewitch (G3) over this course and distance back in April, and the Grade 1-placed #12 Neecie Marie (3-1) enters off a victory in the Ladies Marathon (G3). Both are logical win threats.
However, John Mucciolo of TwinSpires prefers #6 Surprisingly (6-1), a consistent mare who has cracked the top four in 10 graded stakes. She’s slated to be ridden by five-time Eclipse Award-winning jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. and may outrun expectations while stretching out over 1 1/2 miles, the distance over which she ran second by half a length in the Orchid (G3) during the spring.

Aqueduct, Race 5: $44,954 Pick 6 carryover (2:45 p.m. ET)
It’s tough to find a trustworthy single in Aqueduct’s $1 Pick 6 sequence. One possibility is #10 National Archive (3-1) in Race 7, a maiden special weight for New York-bred juvenile fillies racing 1 1/16 miles on turf.
National Archive debuted over this distance and class level during the summer at Saratoga, where she rallied from behind a modest pace to finish fourth by 2 1/2 lengths. National Archive gained three lengths through the final furlong alone and earned a respectable 72 Brisnet Speed rating. Trainer Christophe Clement wins at a 19% rate with second-time starters, and hot jockey Flavien Prat retains the mount, so National Archive appears poised for a winning run.
Santa Anita, Race 3: $36,682 Pick 6 carryover (5 p.m. ET)
The final leg of Santa Anita’s $2 Pick 6 is Race 8, a maiden special weight for two-year-old fillies sprinting 6 1/2 furlongs on turf. We recommend singling #8 Margarita Girl (6-5) even though she’s never run on turf.
Margarita Girl debuted with a runner-up finish in a six-furlong maiden special weight over the Del Mar dirt, beaten only 1 1/2 lengths by next-out Oak Leaf (G2) winner Non Compliant. Margarita Girl pulled nine lengths clear of the rest while earning a 93 Brisnet Speed rating that towers over Sunday’s field. None of her rivals have earned a number higher than 82.
As a daughter of Twirling Candy out of a mare by Uncle Mo, Margarita Girl has the pedigree to handle switching to turf for hot trainer Mark Glatt. She looks ready to break her maiden.
Keeneland, Race 9: $31,690 Super High 5 carryover (5:16 p.m. ET)
Tournament players, and bettors pursuing the carryover in Keeneland’s $1 Super High 5, should consider backing #5 Bilderberg (15-1) as a live longshot in Race 9, a $30,000 maiden claimer for two-year-olds sprinting six furlongs on dirt.
True, Bilderberg showed nothing when debuting in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight on turf at Kentucky Downs, trailing throughout to finish a distant ninth. But not every horse relishes the European-style turf course at Kentucky Downs. Bilderberg may improve while switching to dirt for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen, who wins at a lofty 23% rate with horses dropping from maiden special weight to maiden claiming company.
Good luck!
