TwinSpire's race of the day is Fonner Park, Race 2.
Will Rogers Downs
Race 3
#4 Imperial Temple (5-1) just missed by a half-length and now gets an extra furlong to work with for trainer Robert Pompell, who has a 50% strike rate with last-out beaten favorites. Temple City gelding posted the field-best Brisnet Speed rating (82), so a repeat of that should be enough in this spot.
Race 5
#5 Momma D’s River (8-1) takes a substantial class drop from $20,000 state-bred maiden claiming to the $7,500 level for Oklahomans after a fourth-place try at Remington Park. Trainer Andy Gladd scores with 23% of such drops of two or more classes.
Newcomer #4 Hushed (4-1) has a decent pedigree being by Latent Heat and out of a mare by Quiet American who is out of a half-sister to $562K earner, Runspastum. Trainer Garrison looks for first winner but filly posted a sharp 5-furlongs work here in 1:01 3/5 five days ago. Three-year-old may be ready to win at first asking at this low level with Eikleberry riding.
Race 8
#3 Knox Court (6-1), third in last May’s Golden Circle S. in the mud at Prairie Meadows, descends into the claiming ranks for the first time for the hot trainer/jockey tandem of Jon Arnett and Leandro Goncalves. Well-bred gelding by Hard Spun out of a Candy Ride mare has won or placed in 8 of 14 starts (4 of 6 at this distance), and he won’t mind the rain in the forecast as afternoon turns to evening.
Race 9
#6 Between the Arches (8-1) may have needed her latest but narrowly missed when second after being involved throughout over the track and distance in a starter allowance facing open company two weeks ago. Daughter of Archarcharch has a record of 10-2-3-0 over six furlongs and trainer Davidson wins with 10% second off a layoff and has won with one of eleven starters this meet. Mare can be in good position from the start under Landeros who won with three of last twelve rides for the barn.
Fonner Park
Race 1
#5 Miss Blue Rooster (8-1) comes off a second as the favorite in a similar state-bred maiden, and trainer Richard Bliss wins at a 35% rate with beaten favorites. The 5-year-old mare has been knocking on the door her past three starts and brings the best last-out Brisnet Speed and Late Pace ratings.
Trainer Anderson has won with 19% of his runners at this meet and saddles newcomer #6 Platte Girl (5-2). Filly has a good win early pedigree being by 13% first out sire Cougar Cat and out of a mare by Salt Lake whose offspring win 16% of their first outings. Works include a decent four furlong move in 47 2/5 from the gate this month and half-sister to two winners appears ready for a good effort under Olesiak who won with 19% of rides for the barn in the past 60 days.

Race 3
#7 Itybityquikasakity (10-1) doesn’t have much of a gap to bridge with 3-1 favorite Ticker – on her best day at least – according to Brisnet Speed and Late Pace figures. The Louisiana-bred daughter of Goldencents might be on the verge of a forward move for Isai Gonzalez who wins 26% in the “second start with trainer” category and 33% with jockey Scott Bethke in the last 60 days.
Race 9
#7 Warrior’s Lullaby (9-2) was involved throughout when winning his latest over the track and distance this month in his second start after a short break. Son of Majestic Warrior has won three of eight career starts and makes his third outing since being claimed by Kelli Martinez who has won with a high 33% of runners this meet. Gelding can be on or near the early lead with Armando Martinez remaining aboard.
