Player Quick Pick: 2014 Oklahoma Derby
Kudos to Remington Park for putting together a really cool race to follow. The last 10 winners have been some very interesting horses:

Now that it's slotted 5 weeks out from the Breeders' Cup, it's could definitely be considered an alternative prep for the 3yo males who are looking for an easier route to the Classic or even the Dirt Mile.

1-Away Game: NY shipper is looking for his 3rd straight win 2-Rebranded: Steps up against better quality than he's been beating up on in NM 3-Street Prancer: Got the distance in lone try, but that was against a questionable bunch; Rosie's in for the ride 4-Edison: Win machine is looking for 4th straight, but hasn't been facing much 5-Wildcat Red: Got a little off form when facing the best of the best 6-Bay of Biscay: Line-through the failed turf try last out & he's getting back to his best distance 7-Tonito M.: SoCal shipper looking to get back to his rockstar Puerto Rican form 8-Even Echo: Likely to scratch since he just ran 2nd in an Allowance on Thursday after breaking his maiden earlier this month 9-Charge Now: Super Saver's little half-brother was overmatched in the Travers last out, but the ability's there 10-Ibaka: Only OK-bred in the field is a win machine sprinter stretching past a mile for the first time 11-Declan's Fast Cat: Bred to run all day & shocked the world with a huge 88-1 runner-up finish in the Super Derby 12-Louies Flower: Has to regain his precocious 2yo form when he was a consistent sprinter 13-Tulum: Versatile in surface & style, the Mexican-bred always runs his race 14-For Goodness Sake: Sneaky good effort in the West Virginia Derby in his first try v. graded company
This is a tough handicapping puzzle. Wildcat Red seems logical based on the company he faced in the spring, but there are some talented runners who could upset the favorite and light up the toteboard. This might be a time to try and shoot for the moon.
My taking a stand against Bayern in the Pennsylvania Derby didn't work out so well last week, but I'm going to do the same with Wildcat Red here: I just think there are better horses in the field.
