Graduation for 2yo going 5-1/2 furlongs
WAKE UP NICK was an impressive debut winner at Santa Anita in May and even though the margin of victory was only three-quarters of a length, he may have been that much more impressive in winning the Juvenile at the Great Race Place last month. He was between horses then looked to fade late, but came on strongly again to win. The horse he defeated, Story to Tell, came right back to win his next start, the Proctor Memorial, and drew a good outside post. The horse he has to beat is ATTA’ BOY WOODY from the Jerry Hollendorfer barn. ATTA’ BOY WOODY has not been out since winning his debut in mid June at Santa Anita and has been working decent in the mornings. Those could are must uses in any pick 4 wager. The two upsetters in the field look to be GLOBAL MAGICIAN and PERADVENTURE. GLOBAL MAGICIAN won his debut on the Tapeta at Golden Gate in May then was second, beaten a head, in a state-bred stakes at Pleasanton. Back on a synthetic surface may just be what the doctor ordered. Worth a bet at his 5-1 morning line. PERADVENTURE also won his debut then ran a good third in the Proctor at Los Al two weeks ago. He has a right to move up on the Polytrack as his sire Papa Clem was a Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 placed on synthetics.
