The start of the late pick four wager at Los Alamitos Race Course on Saturday is a maiden special weight and with eight of the nine making their debut, anything can happen. CRUX is the lone starter with experience in the field, but he does not offer a lot of confidence for a win bet. OPSEC is a first-time-starter from the Bob Baffert barn and thus merits respect. The dam of OPSEC ran 14 times in her career with three wins, but it took nine starts to break her maiden. Of course in her first eight starts she had four seconds and three thirds. The morning line favorite for the race is RADIANT DANCER and that has to be based on his morning works. He has been blazing a trail in the mornings and drew post nine for his first run. That should not be a problem if RADIANT DANCER leaves the gates running. Two others that look to have been working well in the morning are RASPBERRY ALA MODE and APERFECTDAYTOFLY. Of the two, RASPBERRY ALA MODE is preferred. The four furlong work on June 23 looks very good on paper and the stable can get them ready to roll first out.
