Race One

1st: (1) HOMER JONES – broke his maiden in an off-the-turf Tapeta race at Gulfstream Park going this distance, then finished out of the money in his next two starts. He draws inside for Mike Trombetta ,who is shipping live horses up here from Maryland.

2nd: (3) DIZZY KITTY – has been racing on dirt, turf, and steeplechasing before shipping here and breaking his maiden by over seven lengths. Son of Kitten’s Joy looks well spotted here and gets in light with Brooke Bays.

3rd: (2) CAMILO – has plenty of back class after breaking his maiden on the Tapeta in fast time last October.

Race Two

1st: (4) HAZARD PAY – was an even third in her well-bet career debut here, then was run down late as the lukewarm favorite last out. Tim Hamm wins 33% first start after being beaten as the favorite and 21% on synthetic tracks

2nd: (5) ART NOUVEAU – rallied from far back to get second by a length here at class and distance for Hamm, who wins 15% with his second time starters. Daughter of Constitution will be flying late with Martina Rojas.

3rd: (7) ICONA MAMA – first-time starter from Flint Stites, who wins 10% with his debut runners and is training well on dirt for this.

Race Three

1st: (2) LEONARD’S LEGACY – speedy horse for the course won off the long layoff here going six furlongs in good time, then tired when moved up to state-bred allowance foes. He drops back down in class for Randy Russell.

2nd: (7) KHOZANDO – beat decent claimers in fast time three starts back, then was an even third when stretched out to two turns. He was outclassed last out in fast time and now drops back to a more realistic class level for Kevin Rice.

3rd: (8) YARDMAN – won going away, then ran well going two turns with Huber Villa-Gomez.

Race Four

1st: (1) ARAK – beat conditioned claimers two starts back here going two turns, then tired last out going six furlongs. He draws the rail and drops down in class going two turns for Ed Rojas, who wins 24% second start out of his barn.

2nd: (6) HAIG POINT – dropped down to this class level and missed by a neck two starts back at Turfway Park, then just missed there from post 9. Tim Girten wins 16% off long rest and gets Pablo Morales – they hit 36% together.

3rd: (8) ROUND OF APPLAUSE – horse for the course beat similar two starts back, then missed by a length when moved up in class.

Race Five

1st: (2) MACKENZIE’S NOVVA – beat cheaper two starts back here going this distance in decent time, then went to Mountaineer Park and won on the turf. He returns against state-bred allowance foes for Gerry Brooks.

2nd: (7) SPY NOVEL – ran well on the turf this winter at Gulfstream Park then was beaten in Barbados. He flattened out on the turf last out against similar company at Parx. Nolan Ramsey adds blinkers and gets Antonio Gallardo.

3rd: (5) INSCRUTABLE – faced good company on the turf at Woodbine before shipping here and racing evenly in her PID debut.

Race Six

1st: (1) BEECHNUT TROPHY – Nolan Ramsey is off to a great start training for his grandfather Ken, and he is adept at spotting them in winning positions. This one was victorious three starts back on the Tapeta at Gulfstream against better company.

2nd: (6) SHE’S FIRE – horse for the course went gate to wire here two starts back against similar company, then won in a long sprint. She makes her third start in a row with Lasix added, and Kevin Rice is winning all over the East Coast.

3rd: (4) YANKEE DOLLAR – Arizona shipper ran well on the turf there and gets Lasix back on for Marcus Vitali.

Race Seven

1st: (2) GOING UP – horse for the course held well to be third against open company stakes foes, then won easily in fast time against state-breds. Son of Mineshaft should have no trouble against state-bred stakes foes for Ron Potts.

2nd: (6) EXTRASEXYBIGDADDEE – rallied for second against open company two starts back in fast time, then won against the same group. Horse for the course tries state-bred stakes foes for Trombetta.

3rd: (8) TWILIGHT DANCER – won his Tapeta debut here, then did it again two starts later.

Race Eight

1st: (5) NEW WAYS TO DREAM – drops down in class off an easy win. If she can run back to that effort here, they don’t have a chance against her. Since wintering at Tampa Bay, she’s come back here very strong, and Willie Martinez rides back.

2nd: (7) CHEROKEE CHATTER – horse for the course showed good speed in her second start of the year, then did little last out. She drops down in class for Cathy Rosantz, who wins 13% with her overall synthetic-track starters.
