He has won two stakes this season, beginning with a solid score from Sam Crow in the $61,800 Mr Jet Moore Stakes for Oklahoma-breds and Tough To Bee, the winner of the $61,800 Mr Master Bug Stakes on April 23.
The 26-year-old, is a proud third-generation horseman. His grandfather, Leo won the 1979 All American Futurity with Pie in the Sky. Trey's dad, Blane Wood has been a highly respected trainer for over three decades, winning over 700 races, including the 1996 Ruidoso Futurity with Haulin Pass.
Wood was a promising high school quarterback, who had scholarship offers to play college football. But his passion for racehorses won out and he has built a very solid career in a short time.
