Remington Park Kicks Off 2017 Quarter Horse Meet on Friday
Some of the best Quarter Horses in the country will compete at Remington Park when the
Oklahoma City racetrack kicks off its American Quarter Horse meet on Friday, March 10. Post time for the first race is set for 6 p.m. (Central).
On March 11, the first Saturday of the meet, Remington has carded 17 Oklahoma Futurity (G3) trials. Post time for the first race has been moved up to 4 p.m. The 10 fastest qualifiers from the Oklahoma Futurity trials will meet in the 76th running of the stakes on Saturday, March 25, worth over $520,000.
Remington Park's rich stakes schedule is topped by the 350-yard, $1-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1), which will be run on closing night, June 3. Six other major Quarter Horse stakes will be contested on closing night, including the 440-yard, $250,000 Remington Park Invitational Championship (G1), and the 400-yard, $100,000-added Heritage Place Derby (G2).
The AQHA Bank of America Challenge is set for Sunday, May 14, topped by the 440-yard, $100,000-added Bank of America Oklahoma Challenge (G2).
