Remington Park Pick 3 Play for Dec. 17
A six-pack of stakes races will take place at Remington Park on Saturday. The big day of racing plays host to a plethora of very good betting options, and I will focus on an all-stakes Pick 3 play on the card to help boost my bankroll.
Sophomores will run one mile on the dirt in the Jim Thorpe S., which is carded as Race 8. My top selection is #6 Rowdy Rascal (6-1) from the Boyd Caster shedrow. The Den’s Legacy gelding has back class, and the three-year-old also possesses the right running style to be a major factor on this occasion.
#5 Beckett’s Luckyday (3-1) has shown improvement at this meeting and could be the one with the proper pace setup for trainer Patrick Swan. The son of Itsmyluckyday was a stakes fourth against much better on the oval two back and looms large with a repeat of that performance against this cast.
In Race 9, the Trapeze S. for juvenile fillies is at eight panels on the dirt. #4 Lucky Deputy (8-1) is my leading choice as one of three in the cast for conditioner Steve Asmussen. The Lookin at Lucky youngster broke through with a score in her first try on the main surface last time out, and I think she will be tough right back at a nice price. But, she can’t be a single in a tough affair.
Todd Fincher’s #3 Olivia Twist (2-1) is 2-for-2 to begin her career, including a 15-length allowance waltz on the strip in her latest showing. The $230,000 spring purchase is quick and can carry her speed at a route of ground, so defeating her will be no easy task in the affair. The Mshawish Kentucky-bred will have Cristian Torres in the controls.
And #8 Doudoudouwanadance (5-2) has crushed three fields in succession and rates as a must-use. Trained by Kari Craddock, the dark bay daughter of Magna Graduate earned a hefty 101 Brisnet Late Pace figure in her recent romp and gets a fine draw outside of the major contenders in the heat. The Oklahoma-bred two-year-old will be forcing the pace from the opening bell with regular pilot Leandro Goncalves in the silks.
Race 10 is for fillies and mares in the She’s All In S., and I will single the morning-line choice to conclude the wager. The Godolphin homebred #1 Famed (6-5) has been fantastic on multiple occasions and looms large while making her local debut. The daughter of Uncle Mo comes off a fine victory in the allowance ranks at Churchill Downs most recently, and any improvement off of that outing will make her difficult to hold off in the stretch on Saturday. The presence of Florent Geroux in the irons adds to her appeal.
Race 8 Wager
- $5 Pick 3: 5,6 with 3,4,8 with 1 ($30)
Good Luck!
