SOUTHLAND Preview - Friday, September 11

September 11th, 2015

Welcome to another Friday evening card of exciting greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 entertaining races on tap for our viewing and wagering pleasure. As most of you who follow the Southland preview blog may know, from time to time I like to go outside the box to try and give different viewpoints and perspectives of greyhound racing. Over the last week I have been concentrating on greyhounds that have drawn the same box at least 3 times in a row to see how they do and if that gives them any extra edge that the wagering public might could use to their benefit. This will include schooling races so if a greyhound has the same post position in a schooling contest and then draws that same box in an official contest it will count for this study. Keep in mind that on some programs there may not be any  selections to be made but on others, there might be several that meet that definition. Remember that these are greyhounds that fit the criteria above and on which MoneyMaker Mike will base the selections. As always, I will give a recap of the results in a few days when the study is over. Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.

Race 4 - 583 yards - Grade M - SHORTYS HEROINE - 7 box - Her last two races from the 7 box resulted in a 3rd and 6th place finish and with this being her third straight contest from this box, she will need to avoid early trouble and find room to run for her inside racing style. Last 5 races she's encountered all kinds of trouble so let's see if she can get a clean run for a change.

Race 9 - 583 yards- Grade A - MEGA HALFTIME - 1 box - This greyhound has drawn the one box for the third straight time and with his inside running style very capable of a money finish here, especially with greyhounds from the 2, 3 and 4 box having a mid to wide running style.

Race10- 583 yards - Grade AA - BART'S TRUMP CARD - 8 box - He's making his first official start at Southland having transferred from the Bluffs Run track less then a month ago. In his last race at Bluffs Run, he drew the 8 box and won in Grade B. In his only schooling race at Southland, he drew the 8 box and finished 4th in a 5 dog race. With this being a very competitive and top grade field it may take him a few races to adjust to the track and find his groove.

Good luck to all.
