SOUTHLAND Preview - June 15
Monday's twilight card at SOUTHLAND features 5 races in which several greyhounds will be trying hard to keep their winning streaks going as they battle paw to paw from start to finish. Several of you have asked for some different angles to look at during the month of June so MONEYMAKER MIKE will showcase some of the greyhounds who are on winning streaks of two or more. Race 1 - Grade TAA - 334 yard course - 4 box - BBB JACK POTTS - Going for 4 wins in a row against a very talented field, he has great early speed and inside running style but the competition is the toughest he has faced so far in his winning streak.
Race 3 - Grade C - 583 yard course - 2 box - KIOWA POLICEMAN - This young greyhound has 4 top four finishes in his young career and is looking to make it 3 straight wins as he continues his move up in class. He's usually out fast at the break and has shown the ability and stamina to hang on to the lead, he bears watching in the future.
Race 14 - Grade C - 583 yard course - 4 box - UB BABY GOT BACK - She's an inside runner with tons of early speed and with a win here will make it 3 in a row. I look for her to be in the chase from start to finish.
Race 17 - Grade AA - 703 yard course - 5 box - SHANAGOLDEN - She's going for her 3rd straight win and has shown to be capable of some decent early speed along with a strong closing move. The competition is tougher but don't overlook her as she'll be coming fast down the stretch.
Race 18 - Grade TA - 820 yard course - 7 box - HAWKWOOD - He's also going for 3 wins in a row over this super marathon course and is posted well for his mid to wide running style. Hopefully he avoids any trouble and has a clear shot at the end in which to make his move.
