SOUTHLAND Preview - June 21
The Sunday matinee card at SOUTHLAND features 2 races in which a couple of greyhounds will be trying hard to keep their winning streaks going as they battle paw to paw from start to finish. Several of you have asked for some different angles to look at during the month of June so MONEYMAKER MIKE will showcase some of the greyhounds who are on winning streaks of two or more. Race 6 - 583 yards - Grade A - 4 box - COME BACK WILSON - He's won 2 straight and looking to make it 3 wins in a row but this competitive Grade A field certainly won't make it easy for him. This will be his first official start in almost 2 months but he did look impressive in his recent schooling win. A mid to rail running style and a strong rush to the turn should have him in the chase once again.
Race 10 - 583 yards - Grade AA - 3 box - JJ'S TANGO - He is also going for 3 wins in a row and he's been a very consistent greyhound since coming here from the Palm Beach track. His record at Southland in 15 races here shows 4 wins, 3 seconds, one third and two fourth place finishes. This hard runner can run from any box as his running style seems to be wherever he can find room to run and that's a plus for sure. While he doesn't have that big early speed right out of the box, he does show a very strong late move from the first turn onward so don't leave him off your ticket here.
