SOUTHLAND Preview - Monday twilight, July 27
Welcome to another big Monday twilight card of greyhound racing at Southland as there are 18 entertaining and exciting races on tap for your viewing and wagering pleasure. Last Friday's MoneyMaker Mike's selections turned out to be pretty good overall and hopefully that will continue with these picks. I am sticking with some of the top grade contests for the selections during this last week of the month.
Race 8 - Grade AA - 583 yard course - I'm going with the (8) DARK N DEMURE in this one. With her tremendous early speed and wide running style I think she hits the lid, avoids early trouble and comes away with her 4th win in her last her last 7 races. I like the (3) Trackinfo Cipher to also go early and the (5) Pj Speed Zone to make a move down the stretch. The (2) Flying Carlsbad will be included in the play as he likes the inside and could vie for lead right out of the box.
Pick - 8-3-5-2
Race 9 - Grade A - 583 yard course - The pick here is the (5) PJ REFINED who has been running distance races over the past month but now is back on the shorter course. She has a lot of good early speed along with a nice rush to turn and has a racing style that puts her in contention for the win from any box, she's the pick here. The (1) Cj's Mack is certainly worth including as this recent transfer from Derby Lane looks ready to go as evidenced by his 2nd place finish in his first official race at Southland. A sparkling 23 top two finishes in 36 races gets my attention and he's worth a play in this one. Completing the tri and superfecta plays, I will use the (6) Gogo Ontario and the very impressive young greyhound the (3) Deco Cannon Fire.
Pick 5-1-6-3
Race 10 - Grade AA - 583 yard course - The (8) DAILY PRAYER is the pick as this Palm Beach transfer has been red hot since arriving here. She's 5 out of 7 with 3 wins already and I think she uses a good rush and big closing move in this race to get the win at the wire. I won't overlook the (1) Ruby Jean nor the (3) Mega Bien Hecho as both have tons of early speed in which to get around the turn in good shape to challenge for the victory but I do believe the (8) catches either of them down the stretch. I will also include the (5) Dawmuhknows who gives 110% each time out.
Pick - 8-1-3-5
For the MoneyMaker longshot play of the evening, I will go with Race 11 - Grade A - 583 yard course and the pick is the (5) REVOLUTION who has encountered some bad racing luck over the past month but who is more than capable of getting back to his winning ways at anytime.
Good luck to everyone and thanks for reading.
