Southland Preview - Sunday matinee, June 7

Sunday's matinee card at SOUTHLAND features 2 races in which a couple of greyhounds will be trying hard to keep their winning streaks going as they battle paw to paw from start to finish. Several of you have asked for some different angles to look at so during the month of June MONEYMAKER MIKE will showcase some of the greyhounds who are on winning streaks of two or more. It will be interesting to watch and see just how long some of these winning streaks will last. Race 5 - Going for his third straight win, SOVEREIGN ISLAND has drawn the 5 box in this Grade AA race over the 583 yard course. With his huge rush to the turn, he's a threat from any box and with 19 top four finishes in 25 races, look for him to be leading or near the front as they head down the stretch.

Race 10 - KL'S SEAN will be going for his 3rd straight win as well and has drawn the 4 box in this Grade TB contest over the 703 yard distance course. He's a mid to wide runner with a strong closing move and he will certainly need a big stretch drive here as he's going against some solid class greyhounds in this competitive field.
