Stakes-Filled Final Week Ahead at Remington Park
The 2017 Quarter Horse racing season at Remington Park is in its final
stretch run with a big week of racing and stakes competition to be contested at the Oklahoma City racetrack.
On Monday, May 29, Remington Park will present a special Memorial Day card including four stakes for Oklahoma-breds. The $61,800 FL Lady Bug Stakes at 330 yards; the $61,800 Boyd Morris Memorial Stakes for 3-year-olds and older at 400 yards; the $61,800 Easy Date Stakes for fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and older, at 350 yards; and the $50,000 Jack Brooks Stakes for 3-year-olds at 350 yards.
Ima China Rush headlines the field for the $61,800 FL Lady Bug Stakes showcasing 2-year-olds. The talented filly won the $525,000 Oklahoma Futurity and will reunite with jockey Larry Payne. Trained by Guillermo Valdivia, Ima China Rush is currently ranked third on the AQHA Top Ten Poll.
Trainer Judd Kearl and jockey Rodrigo Vallejo travel from Ruidoso Downs where they qualified Eagle Jazz, the top juvenile for the $1 million Ruidoso Futurity on Saturday. They will team up with Valiant Rogue, a Grade 1-winning son of Valiant Hero, the 2-1 morning line choice in Monday’s 400-yard Boyd Morris Memorial Stakes.

Dicecapades leads the field in the Jack Brooks Stakes. The filly by Prospect to the Top won the FL Lady Bug Stakes last year and will be ridden by James Flores. The stakes is named in honor of the legendary conditioner who won the prestigious All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs a record eight times. He was honored as Remington Park’s leading trainer five times.
Post time for the Memorial Day program is 3:00 pm (Central). Saturday, June 3 will be the final day of the meet with eight stakes including the $1.1 million Heritage Place Futurity (G1) and the $250,000 Remington Park Invitational (G1).
