Stakes Spot Plays for Remington Park Dec. 15
A total of six black-type races will be hosted by Remington Park on Friday night, led by the Remington Park Mile S. I’ll take a look at a few of the undercard events in this piece.
Race 5 – Useeit S.
Sophomore fillies bred in the Sooner State will travel one mile on the dirt in the initial stakes tilt of the evening. Trainer Bret Calhoun has a pair of the nine signed on for the affair, and I’ll tab his impressive maiden winner #3 Ship of Dreams (5-1) to make good in her black-type debut. The daughter of Midshipman coughed up a big lead at first asking when second on the oval, but she did no such thing second time out when striding clear by 13 lengths under the line. The filly closed in a good time in that six-furlong romp, and I think that the distance is well within her scope. Stewart Elliot inherits the live mount.
#3 West Omaha breaks her maiden in R7 at Churchill Downs for trainer @bradcoxracing with Martin Chuan aboard! 🤩

Race 7 – Trapeze S.
The one-mile dirt contest for juvenile fillies attracted nine, and I will give #1 West Omaha (7-5) the nod as my top selection on the entire card. The Brad Cox trainee rallied to be a close third at Churchill Downs in her debut prior to dominating special weight foes on the same surface at seven-eighths most recently, and the dark bay will only improve as the distances increase. This West Coast miss has the look of a nice prospect to me with additional seasoning. Flavien Prat riding adds to the appeal.
Race 8 – She’s All In S.
Fillies and mares will run two turns in the $75,000 event with eight set to go postward. #3 Palacein (6-1) might be an all-or-nothing type of play, but she is worth it at a nice price. The Scott Young trainee is the ‘speed of the speed’ in the field, and she is proven at seven panels on the oval following her allowance victory here two prior. This bay daughter of Palace Malice will need her best to wire a pretty talented field, but I’m betting that she will be up to the task with Gerardo Mora in the stirrups.
