The number of weekend maiden winners saddled by two-time Derby winning trainer Todd Pletcher. Jerry the Nipper cruised to an easy victory running a mile at Aqueduct, while the hyped Liam’s Point forged to a narrow success sprinting 7 furlongs at Gulfstream Park. Both are sons of Pletcher’s 2015 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Liam’s Map.

The number of lengths by which Sir Rick cruised to victory in Sunday’s 1 1/16-mile Mine That Bird Derby at Sunland Park. After he engaged in a duel for early supremacy, Sir Rick kicked away confidently in the homestretch and sprinted the final five-sixteenths of a mile in :31.08 to win in unopposed fashion.

The number of starts required for Kiss Today Goodbye to break his maiden. The son of Cairo Prince finally broke through Saturday at Santa Anita, where he upset heavy favorite Exaulted in a 1-mile maiden special weight. His winning time of 1:37.25 was quite snappy for Santa Anita.

The number of workouts recorded by Iroquois (G3) winner Dennis’ Moment in preparation for Saturday’s Fountain of Youth (G2) at Gulfstream. The son of Tiznow wrapped up his serious training with a half-mile breeze in :48.05 Sunday.

The number of Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby qualification points secured by Cafe Pharoah for his last-to-first victory in the Hyacinth S. on Sunday at Tokyo Racecourse. The Triple Crown-nominated son of American Pharoah is now undefeated in two starts. He also led all the way to win his debut at Nakayama by 10 lengths.

The number of seconds required for Cafe Pharoah to cover the final 600 meters of the Hyacinth, an exceptional closing fraction that bodes well for his ability to handle the testing, 1 1/4-mile distance of the Kentucky Derby.
