Australian Past Performances

The Australian past performances produced by Sky Racing World should be easily decipherable by North American bettors. For each horse, critical information is prominently outlined—name, age, sex, pedigree, weight assignment, program number, post position number, owner, trainer, jockey, trainer and jockey stats, lifetime record, career earnings, etc.

Below this standard introductory information, the racing form for each horse is displayed with traditional running lines (a maximum of ten) featuring the date, track, course condition, class level, and distance of each race they’ve contested. Fractional times, speed ratings, points of call, and margins of victory/defeat are also included, followed by the horse’s jockey assignment, post position number, weight assignment, and final odds. The top three finishers round out the running line for each race.

Lastly, a comment is included for each horse, designed to quickly distill the past performances into key takeaways to guide your handicapping.

Race Analysis Card

If you want to quickly identify the key contenders in any given race, the Race Analysis Card is a useful tool.

Using a single page of easy-to-read data for each track, Sky Racing World ranks the contenders in every race using 12 common categories of interest:

But beyond providing a quick snapshot of every race and wager on the agenda, the Power Rankings Sheet also ranks the horses in every race from top to bottom using a “Power Rank” number determined by an algorithm analyzing a dozen different data points. The resulting numbers can give a feel for how evenly-matched a given race might be. If the best horse boasts a Power Rank number of 239 and the second-best horse has only a 101, you’re looking at a heavy favorite compared to a race where the top three horses have Power Rank numbers of 200, 200, and 190.
