Quarter Horse racing is heating up in circuits across the country. With trials for the prestigious All American Futurity and All American Derby set for August 21 -23, let's take a look at the top trainers of 2015.

Paul Jones is American Quarter Horse racing’s all-time leader in money earned with over $76.4 million and second in victories with 3,838. The California native continues to dominate at Los Alamitos in Cypress, California with over 3,325 wins including 300 stakes victories. He has been honored a record 13 times as AQHA champion trainer, beginning in 2002, when he conditioned Whosleavingwho, winner of the Grade 1, Champion of Champions. Jones, who will turn 50 in November, is also a force at Ruidoso Downs, saddling Noconi (2008) and Inseperable (2009) in the All American Derby (G1). He has also won the All American Futurity (G1) three times with Teller Cartel (2005); No Secrets Here (2006) and Running Brook Gal (2009).

Wes Giles grew up in Utah and has been training for over 30 years. His runners have had success at Ruidoso Downs, SunRay Park, Sunland Park and Zia Park. He is currently the second-leading money earner in 2015, following a big victory in the $1.9 million All American Derby last September with Too Flash For You. Trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. has done the majority of his running and winning in Louisiana. He has been the leading horseman at Delta Downs and Evangeline Downs and will be prominent in the Fair Grounds meet, which gets underway on August 15.

Michael Joiner is fourth on the leading trainer list for 2015 with one of his biggest scores the victory by First Valiant Sign in the $750,000 Ruidoso Futurity (G1) on June 7. He will be a horsemen to watch in the All American trials on August 21-22. Rounding out the top five is Martin Trejo, who is based in Louisiana and won the training title earlier this year at Louisiana Downs.
