As the United States thaws out from the winter blast, racetracks are returning to their regular schedules. As a result, the next several Wednesdays will become more enticing than ever for horseplayers.
Let's take a look at two Wednesday tracks and see what is ahead.
Turfway Park
Wednesday nights will be race nights in Florence, Kentucky from now through the rest of the meet ā from Feb. 24 through March 24, starting at 6:15 p.m. ET. The first Wednesday card will be run this week, and the eight-race card drew full, competitive fields.

Two stakes races canceled because of the storms will run at Turfway on Friday, Feb. 26, and both drew overflow fields of 13. The John Battaglia Memorial S., a points race on the Road to the Kentucky Derby, drew an overflow field, led by Grade 1 winner Gretzky the Great.
Two races later comes the Cincinnati Trophy, a points race on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks. Dirty Dangle, a stakes winner on the Woodbine grass in September, is the headliner.
Oaklawn Park
Oaklawn has added two Wednesdays later in the meet, on March 31 and April 28. Oaklawn will add 27 races in all to make up for missed dates.
