Tracks to play on Sunday with Breeders’ Cup winnings

November 3rd, 2024

If you enjoyed a profitable Breeders’ Cup betting experience and want to keep your momentum going, here are three tracks to bet on Sunday with your Breeders’ Cup winnings:

Aqueduct

(first post time 12:10 p.m. ET)

Three $150,000 stakes serve as the highlights of a nine-race Sunday card at Aqueduct.

Race 6, the seven-furlong Pumpkin Pie S. for fillies and mares, looks ripe for conquest by #5 Nic’s Style (6-5). The daughter of Uncaptured dominated her first three starts by a combined 20 margins, then finished second to Grade 1 winner Ways and Means in the Gallant Bloom (G2). Dropping down in class for the Pumpkin Pie ought to send Nic’s Style to the winner’s circle.

#4 St. Benedicts Prep (6-1), victorious in three of her last four starts sprinting seven furlongs, can complete the exacta.

  • Race 6: $15 Exacta: 5 with 4

We’ll aim for a mild upset in race 8, the Discovery S. for three-year-olds racing 1 1/8 miles. Ohio Derby (G3) winner #9 Batten Down (7-5) is a logical favorite, but #8 Tuscan Sky (5-1) is good enough to surprise on his best day. Two starts back, the talented but inconsistent colt won the 1 1/16-mile Pegasus S. by 6 3/4 lengths over future Grade 1 winner Domestic Product, earning a flashy 100 Brisnet Speed rating.

  • Race 7: $15 Exacta: 8 with 9

Churchill Downs

(first post time 1:00 p.m. ET)

There aren’t any stakes on the nine-race Sunday card at Churchill Downs, but race 7 might as well be a stakes. It’s a 5 1/2-furlong allowance for three-year-olds who have never won a graded stakes, and the dirt dash has drawn four stakes winners plus two others who have placed at the stakes level.

#5 Hedwig (6-1) is an intriguing price play. The son of Maclean’s Music has the pedigree to shine on dirt but has competed exclusively on turf so far, including when finishing a troubled seventh in the Franklin-Simpson (G1) at Kentucky Downs. Sunday’s field contains plenty of speed on paper, so Hedwig’s ability to rate off the pace should come in handy. This Godolphin homebred is worth betting to win in his dirt debut.

  • Race 7: $20 to win on #5 Hedwig

Woodbine

(first post time 1:10 p.m. ET)

Sunday’s 10-race card at Woodbine features two graded stakes taking place over 1 1/16 miles on Tapeta: race 8, the Mazarine (G3), and race 9, the Grey (G3).

The Mazarine looks like a perfect spot for #1 Charlotte’s Heart (2-1) to shine. The daughter of Authentic won her debut sprinting against New York-breds at Saratoga, then switched to the Woodbine Tapeta and gobbled up ground to finish a close second in the seven-furlong Glorious Song S. Stretching out over 1 1/16 miles shouldn’t be an obstacle, and hot jockey Rafael Hernandez retains the mount.

  • Race 8: $25 to win on #1 Charlotte’s Heart

Good luck!
