"Race for the Crown," a new six-part Netflix series premiering April 22, 2025, promises an immersive look into the high-stakes world of Thoroughbred horse racing. 

Produced by Box to Box Films, known for "Formula 1: Drive to Survive," the series offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes perspective on the journey to the Triple Crown.

The series focuses on the intense competition and drama surrounding the Grade I stakes season, from the Breeders' Cup to the prestigious Triple Crown races: the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. 

Viewers will witness the dedication and pressure faced by owners, trainers, and jockeys as they strive for victory.

Key figures featured in "Race for the Crown" include prominent owners like Michael Iavarone and Mike Repole, whose significant financial investments and pursuit of glory drive the narrative. 

The series also highlights the diverse backgrounds and skills of the jockeys, showcasing their physical and mental resilience. Notable jockeys featured are Brian Hernandez Jr., Frankie Dettori, Katie Davis, Umberto Rispoli, Antonio Fresu, Irad Ortiz, Jr., John Velazquez, Javier Castellano, Flavien Prat, Florent Geroux, Jose Ortiz, and Luis Saez.

The show also features insight from renowned trainers such as Bob Baffert, 2024 Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby winning trainer Kenny McPeek, Brad Cox, and Larry Demeritte, who play crucial roles in preparing the horses for the demanding races.
