Parx Racing: Race 1: $7,500 Claiming (one mile, 12:05 p.m. ET)

#4 Bravo Regina (9-2) has been competing against tougher competition than she’ll face on Tuesday. She placed in a couple of $16,000 claimers at Aqueduct last spring, and in November she ran fifth in a $12,500 claimer racing one mile and 70 yards at Parx Racing.

Bravo Regina is capable of putting up solid Brisnet Speed ratings on her best day and should appreciate dropping down to the $7,500 level, so let’s bet her to win and hope her 9-2 morning line odds hold up.

#1 Civil Notion (9-2) finished second over this track, distance, and class level on Dec. 13, earning a career-best 78 Brisnet Speed rating. She tracked a slow pace that day, and since there isn’t a crazy amount of speed in Tuesday’s field, Civil Notion should be set for another favorable trip.

#6 Gryphon’s Wings (7-2), who likewise has tactical speed, can complete the exacta.

#6 Silverbullettwenty (5-2) was much the best in a $30,000-$24,000 maiden claimer at Laurel Park last month, tracking the pace before taking over to dominate the seven-furlong sprint by 5 1/2 lengths.

That effort yielded a 78 Brisnet Speed rating, one of the highest numbers in Tuesday’s field, and the form was flattered when third-place finisher Formal Affair returned to dominate his next start against $45,000-$36,000 maiden claiming competition. For these reasons, we’ll bet Silverbullettwenty to win and play him over #3 Try Harder (3-1) in the exacta.
