Finger Lakes: Race 6: Maiden Special Weight (six furlongs on dirt, 3:25 p.m. ET)

#5 Giant Impact (4-1) didn’t get a favorable trip when debuting in a 5 1/2-furlong sprint over this track and class level on Sept. 9. After vying for the early lead, he got shuffled back to fifth place. He tried to re-rally, but had to wait in traffic around the turn. Then he flattened out down the lane to finish fourth.

Even with these difficulties, Giant Impact earned a 64 Brisnet Speed rating that stacks up well against Tuesday’s field. If he gets a clean trip while adding blinkers for his second start, Giant Impact can deliver victory for the hot jockey/trainer duo of Keiber Coa and Anthony Ferraro.

#9 Anglican (3-1) has competed exclusively against maiden special weight competition. She rallied to finish second by a neck over this course and distance back in May, and more recently she finished seventh and sixth in tough maiden special weights at Del Mar and Kentucky Downs.

Returning to Horseshoe Indianapolis and dropping into a $32,000 maiden claimer can send Anglican to the winner’s circle under jockey Axel Concepcion, a 23% winner at Horseshoe Indianapolis this meet.

Presque Isle Downs: Race 5: $7,500 Claiming (6 1/2 furlongs on Tapeta, 4:48 p.m. ET)

#6 Aquitania Arrival (2-1) made his Presque Isle debut with a strong performance in an $8,000 claimer sprinting 6 1/2 furlongs on Sept. 20. He stayed within 1 1/2 lengths of a quick pace, then took command in the final furlong to win by 1 3/4 lengths with an 85 Brisnet Speed rating.

None of Aquitania Arrival’s Tuesday rivals have earned a Speed rating higher than 80 in their last four starts apiece. If Aquitania Arrival can replicate his Presque Isle debut performance in his second start over this track, he’ll be a formidable win threat.
