Mahoning Valley: Race 4: $6,500 Claiming (5 1/2 furlongs, 2:08 p.m. ET)

#6 Lady Fortune (8-5) ran strongly in a $15,000 claimer for non-winners of four races at Mahoning last month, pressing the pace before taking over to win by 2 1/2 lengths with a 71 Brisnet Speed rating.

Now Lady’s Fortune is tackling a $6,500 claimer for horses who haven’t won two races since Aug. 27. Her rivals in this contest have been struggling to crack the 70 Speed rating plateau, but Lady’s Fortune has exceeded that number in five of her last eight starts. She looks ready to win again for the hot jockey/trainer duo of Jose Bracho and Richard Zielinski, who have gone 5-for-11 (45%) teaming up together over the last two months.

We’ll keep things simple with a large win bet on Lady Fortune.

Parx Racing: Race 8: Maiden Special Weight (six furlongs, 3:14 p.m. ET)

#4 Noisy On the Bay (2-1) hasn’t missed the trifecta in three dirt starts, including a couple of stakes. She debuted in the 6 1/2-furlong Imply S. at Parx and rallied from last place to finish second behind Aoife’s Magic, who is unbeaten in four starts with a pair of Parx stakes wins to her credit.

Dropping in class for a maiden special weight should make Noisy On the Bay tough to beat in her three-year-old debut. A large win bet is in order.

Turf Paradise: Race 7: $12,500 Allowance Optional Claiming (one mile, 5:49 p.m. ET)

Former California competitor #5 Lucy L (7-2) performed strongly in her Turf Paradise debut last month. Running for the first time under the care of hot trainer Justin Evans (31% winner this meet), Lucy L tracked the pace in a 6 1/2-furlong $10,000 claimer before drawing off to dominate by 5 3/4 lengths.

That runaway victory yielded a career-best 82 Brisnet Speed rating, the highest last-out number belonging to any horse in Tuesday’s field. Lucy L has run well over one mile in the past, so we’ll bet her to win and call it a day.
