Turfway Park Pick 3 play for February 22

A pair of maiden events are the bookends of a Pick-3 sequence that I will take aim at Saturday at Turfway Park.

Race 3 -- Maiden Claiming

Nine 3-year-old fillies will travel one-mile on the synthetic strip. #9 Waverly Sunset (7-2) plunges down in class from the special weight level while drawing outside today. Aikenite filly has improved since adding blinkers two prior and has the speed to be involved from the break.

#5 Dreamin of Munny (5-1) has run evenly in both lifetime starts to date, and she will improve second time going a route of ground. Munnings filly makes sense under McKee.

Race 4 -- Claiming

A field of 10 will contest a lower-level claiming endeavor.  #1 Talking Zip (5-1) has speed and the rail in a second start for Martinez. City Zip gelding drops in class off of a win on the dirt.

I also like #8 Seattle Treasure (3-1), who returns to the Ethan West shedrow. Gelding was a fine runner-up against better on the oval two prior, and his best gives him a big chance in this spot.

Race 5 -- Maiden Special Weight

I expect to get through the final leg with a quartet of fillies in a wide-open dash. #2 Yellen (3-1) looks like lone speed and comes in fresh for Wesley Ward. Fed Biz filly could lead at every call.

Mark Hubley’s #8 Honorable Memory (5-1), second-time starter #10 Lele (6-1), and debuter #12 Sally O’Brien (8-1), are also logical in this sprint field.
