TwinSpires Player Wins $191,588 on Santa Anita Pick 6

A longtime TwinSpires VIP player had a life changing score on Friday when he held the only winning ticket in a $167,000 Pick 6 payout at Santa Anita.  With other consolations included the payout came to a huge $191,588 for a ticket which cost $1,280 to play.

Let's take a look back at the horses that delivered for him and no one else!

Race 3 began the sequence and they headed down the hillside turf course.  Our VIP had to be feeling pretty good as they turned for home and Secreto Primero off the year plus layoff reeled in the even money favorite who had things his own way down the hill giving an $11.40 winner to kick it off.  Race 4 was the lone single in a group of $10,000 claimers who hadn't won in a year took to do battle sprinting.  With the rail left wide open, Kent Desormeaux walked right through and opened up by 5 as the co favorite.  Back to the hill for a maiden race and here is where a big majority of tickets headed into the trash.  Cover Song, whose lone start was a dismal defeat on dirt to Songbird, tried the lawn and loved it graduating over her stablemate (who was also on the ticket) to the tune of $23.80.  Race 6 was a "ALL" affair and it paid off handsomely with Margie's Minute- first off the claim- commanding $12.20 for the score.  Race 7 was yet another tangle down the hill and this one was a nail biter.  Four deep and turning for home only 1 of that quartet had a chance to reel in a longshot on the lead and in the final jump Corps De Ballet danced her way to victory paying a not too shabby $9.40.  Finally, maiden claimers lined up for the nightcap and around the far turn She's Memorable made her move and it was one our VIP won't forget!  An overlay at 14-1 she motored past the leaders and never looked back giving backers a $31.60 win and of course the pick 6.
