The wagering highlight of a quiet Sunday card at Gulfstream Park is a non-jackpot $10,992 Super High 5 carryover.
As usual, the prize pool for the $1 wager is up for grabs in the final race of the afternoon. That would be Race 10, a $12,500 maiden claimer for three-year-olds racing one mile and 70 yards on Tapeta. With nine horses in the entries, handicappers have 15,120 possible Super High 5 outcomes to sort through.

Gulfstream Park, Race 10, $10,992 Super High 5 carryover: analysis
#6 Risen Sun (9-5) is the morning-line favorite and a logical win threat. He’s started twice, finishing fifth in a Presque Isle Downs maiden special weight and third (beaten only 1 3/4 lengths) in a $17,500 maiden claimer at Gulfstream. Both of those efforts came on Tapeta, and the latter yielded a 74 Brisnet Speed rating, one of the highest numbers in Sunday’s field. Descending into a $12,500 maiden claimer should make Risen Sun tough to beat.
The only horse was can seriously envision upsetting Risen Sun is #5 Game of Power (15-1), who is dropping in class after debuting with a ninth-place finish in a $35,000 maiden claimer racing one mile over the Gulfstream turf. He’s adding blinkers for his second try, and it’s worth noting trainer Angel Quiroz wins at a 29% rate with horses switching from turf to synthetic. There are reasons to believe Game of Power can move forward in a big way on Sunday.
Other must-use contenders include #1 Dimanche Gras (3-1) and #4 Signal Caller (9-2). They’ve each hit the board twice over this track and class level, and typical performances on Sunday should land them top-five finishes.
#8 Back in Business (5-1) finished behind Dimanche Gras and Signal Caller after leading at the eighth pole of a 1 1/16-mile $12,500 maiden claimer at Gulfstream last month, but perhaps he can improve while adding blinkers for his second try on Tapeta.
We’ll round out our tickets with #2 King Express (8-1) and #9 Ayman (20-1).
Good luck!
