There’s something exciting about betting late-running Thoroughbreds and cheering for them to catch up down the homestretch, but they’re generally at a disadvantage against rivals with superior early speed. @Brisnet Pace ratings can help you find them ⤵️ https://t.co/B5d1WFNkdE

Best Bets and Quick Picks
Turf Paradise: Race 3: $30,000 Maiden Optional Claiming (6 1/2 furlongs on dirt, 4:51 p.m. ET)
#2 Jacked Up (4-1) ran well when debuting in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight for Arizona-breds at Turf Paradise. He pressed the pace throughout and was beaten only a neck while pulling 11 lengths clear of the third-place finisher.
That effort earned a 73 Brisnet Speed rating, one of the highest numbers in Monday’s field. With hot jockey Glenn Corbett in the saddle, Jacked Up is a logical choice to win his second start.
Let’s place a win bet on Jacked Up and single him to start a double wager.
Selections
- #2 Jacked Up (4-1)
- #6 Bottle Caps (2-1)
- #5 Syds Warrior (6-1)
Wagers
- $15 to win on #2 Jacked Up
- $15 Double: 2 with 5
Total: $30
Turf Paradise: Race 4: $20,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (six furlongs on dirt, 5:20 p.m. ET)
#5 Joe Don Looney (2-1) has won his last two starts at Turf Paradise for high-percentage trainer Justin Evans. First he trounced a $16,000 allowance optional claimer by five lengths. Then he wired a $25,000 allowance optional claimer by 1 1/2 lengths.
Those efforts yielded back-to-back 87 Brisnet Speed ratings. None of Joe Don Looney’s Monday rivals have recently earned a number higher than 85, so a third straight win is likely on the horizon.
We’ll single Joe Don Looney to conclude our double bet, then play him over #7 Ultimate (7-2) and #6 Welton (4-1) in a trifecta.
Selections
- #5 Joe Don Looney (2-1)
- #7 Ultimate (7-2)
- #6 Welton (4-1)
Wagers
- $7.50 Trifecta: 5 with 6,7 with 6,7 ($15)
Turf Paradise: Race 8: $25,000 Allowance Optional Claiming (one mile on turf, 7:16 p.m. ET)
Former California campaigner #7 Sunglasses (9-2) made a nice impression in her Turf Paradise debut. Favored to win a $15,000 allowance optional claimer racing about one mile on turf, the British-bred mare closed from midfield to win by 1 3/4 lengths.
Sunglasses has a chance to spring a mild surprise over #1 Marinas Tina (5-2), who hasn’t missed the board in her last four starts at Turf Paradise. We’ll play a win bet and an exacta accordingly.
Selections
- #7 Sunglasses (9-2)
- #1 Marinas Tina (5-2)
- #2 Poker Alice (5-1)
Wagers
- $20 to win on #7 Sunglasses (9-2)
- $5 Exacta: 7 with 1
Total: $25
Good luck!
