Picks for $32,631 Pick 6 carryover, $200 feeder tournament

February 2nd, 2025

This Sunday is a light day for horse racing as far as graded stakes are concerned. But a $32,632 Pick 6 carryover at Aqueduct and a $200 feeder tournament at Oaklawn add interest to the afternoon.

Aqueduct’s $32,631 Pick 6 carryover

No one solved the $1 Pick 6 at Aqueduct on Saturday, so Sunday’s card is highlighted by a $32,631 carryover.

The Pick 6 gets underway in Race 3 (post time 2:08 p.m. ET), and bettors seeking a single to build tickets around should check out Race 4. It’s a $30,000 maiden claimer for older New York-breds racing one mile on dirt.

There’s hardly any speed in this seven-horse field, so #6 Allofasuddenlee (5-2) appears poised for a perfect trip. The four-year-old gelding has set the pace in his last two starts over this track and class level, finishing second and sixth while earning solid Brisnet Speed ratings of 76 and 69.

If Allofasuddenlee improves at all while adding blinkers, he can lead all the way through an easy pace and deliver victory as a Pick 6 single.

$200 Oaklawn Feeder to 2/8 Sam F. Davis/Oaklawn KDBC Qualifier

Planning to play Oaklawn Park on Sunday? Then you might want to participate in the $200 Oaklawn Feeder to 2/8 Sam F. Davis/Oaklawn KDBC Qualifier tournament on TwinSpires. Bet your entire $100 bankroll across at least five races at Oaklawn (minimum $10 per race) to compete for a spot in the Feb. 8 $500 Sam F. Davis/Oaklawn KDBC Qualifier tournament.

Race 1 at Oaklawn offers an early chance to climb the leaderboard. It’s a one-mile maiden special weight for three-year-olds, and #4 Prime Power (6-5) looks tough to beat. The son of Medaglia d’Oro set a fast pace in his debut sprinting six furlongs at Fair Grounds before staying on to finish second, beaten only 1 1/4-lengths by next-out Swale S. third-place finisher Gunmetal.

Prime Power pulled 7 1/4 lengths clear of the rest, so it’s safe to say he ran a strong race. He’s bred to shine while stretching out over one mile for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen (an 18% winner with second-time starters), and it’s worth noting the 97 Brisnet Speed rating he posted on debut is by far the highest number in Sunday’s field.

We recommend tournament players bet Prime Power on top of #5 Darrow (5-2) in a cold $20 exacta. Darrow debuted with a third-place finish dashing six furlongs at Fair Grounds and should appreciate stretching out for trainer Brad Cox, who wins at a 29% rate with horses running long for the first time.

Good luck!
