#1 Sand Paynter (6-1) is eligible to win on debut for trainer Dan McFarlane, who strikes at a solid 19% rate with first-time starters. The son of Haskell (G1) winner Paynter enters off a sharp half-mile workout in :47 at Turf Paradise, suggesting he has some talent.

We’ll keep our strategy simple and bet Sand Paynter to win.

None of Cy’s Silkstocking’s rivals have posted a Brisnet Speed rating higher than 61 in their last two starts apiece, so let’s try singling him to start a double wager.
