Trainer Brendan Walsh is off to a fast start at Churchill Downs.

After finishing third with his first starter last weekend, Walsh has won two straight, sending out Ruble to a 4 ½-length victory on Wednesday and Pure Legacy to a half-length score in Thursday’s 2ND race.

Neither was favored, with Ruble returning a $10.60 win mutuel and Pure Legacy $7.20.

For those that believe in good things happening in “threes,” Walsh’s next starter comes in Thursday’s 10TH race, One More Strike. The four-year-old filly is listed at an attractive 12-1 on the morning line.

A 40-year-old native of Ireland, Walsh served as an assistant to Eddie Kenneally before going out on his own. He won his first race in the spring of 2012.
