White Abarrio: Kentucky Derby contender profile
White Abarrio will be the most accomplished Kentucky Derby runner from Florida. The gray Kentucky-bred colt recorded wins in the Florida Derby (G1) and Holy Bull (G3), and ran well when making his two-turn debut in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) at Churchill Downs last fall, finishing third in a deep field. White Abarrio will look to make his presence felt from just off the pace in the Run for the Roses.

White Abarrio Pedigree
Sire: Race Day
White Abarrio is from the third crop of Race Day, a gray son of three-time leading sire Tapit. Race Day didn’t make his first career outing until the fall of his three-year-old season, but after winning his first three starts, he went on to capture the Oaklawn H. (G2), Fayette (G2), and Razorback (G3) at age four. All told, Race Day won six of his 12 career starts, with all his wins coming at one mile or more. Race Day is also the sire of Arkansas Derby (G1) runner-up Barber Road.
Dam: Catching Diamonds
White Abarrio is the first starter from the Into Mischief mare Catching Diamonds, a half-sister to a pair of stakes winners. Into Mischief has become North America’s top stallion, leading all sires the last three years, and his sons Authentic and Mandaloun have won the last two runnings of the Kentucky Derby. By multiple Grade 1-winning millionaire Harlan’s Holiday, who finished seventh as the favorite in the 2002 Kentucky Derby, Into Mischief is making an impact from a limited sample as a young broodmare sire.
