Woodbine Harness: Mohawk's July 3 plays
The July 3 program at Woodbine/Mohawk Park will end with a mandatory payout in the Jackpot Hi-5 in Race 11.
Well before that, however, there are many other multi- and single-race exotics to wager upon. We offer some suggestions (in post-position order) on horses we feel are worthy to add in tickets on other exotic wagers
Races 1 through 5 offer a 20-cent $10,000-guaranteed Early Pick 5.
Race 1
#7 Major Hill dips to this level, one he handled fine at Hoosier. #10 Siddhartha has been supported well at two levels in June with excuses for losing both. From the outside he may enjoy a smooth late path.
A 20-cent Pick 3 is featured for races 2 through 4.
Race 2
#5 Jabberwocky had the kind of late kick needed in this predicted speed event for freshmen. #7 Erinwood Yves is a colt by State Treasurer, a sire poised to send out some patient starters.
Race 3
#4 Pembrook Legacy N returns likely to avenge his loss as a beaten favorite.
A 20-cent Pick 4 is featured for races 4 through 7.
Race 4
#3 Dreamfair Arnie B is improving with every start, last time getting second faster than some of his foe’s winning times in this field. #8 Sports Section and #9 Im King Conn are dangerous from the outside in any early duels ensuing without them.
Race 5
#Legion Seelster was claimed from top-trainer Richard Moreau, but is still a contender after two close seconds from Victor Puddy. Great price is promised.
A 20-cent Late Pick 5 is featured for races 6 through 10.
Race 6
#5 Big Rich lost his first two in 2021, but his third could be much better considering the foes in this field.
Race 7
#5 Twin B Heart Throb needs to be taken seriously after two smart races, one a win. The same goes for PL Ozzy, winner of his last two.
A 20-cent Pick 3 is featured for races 8 through 10.
Race 8
#2 Lady Arthur has already proven she is a force to be reckoned with at three. #5 Mia Culpa can take this hike coming off of a win and will make a difference in the exotics.
Race 9
#6 Mayhem Hanover should make amends to backers who pounded him to win last time.
Race 10
#2 Cortez The Killer lost ground in a duel keeping the top and could get this one done with live cover.
