#1 COAL BATTLE (10-1): Smarty Jones S. romper is 4-for-4 on the dirt and gets what could be an advantageous rail post for his graded bow. The Lonnie Briley pupil can win from off the pace, or on the front end, and the son of Coal Front has to be considered a major threat in the deep field with Juan Vargas up.

#11 SPEED KING (6-1): Southwest S. (G3) upsetter led throughout in his latest showing and gets a nice draw outside of the other major pace in the race for Ron Moquett. The Volatile colt shows a pair of maintenance works leading up to this endeavor and will be sent from the start by Rafael Bejarano.

#12 BRERETON’S BAYTOWN (50-1): Outsider in the field beat $40,000 claimers at Laurel Park last time and would need a major leap forward to make the frame against this group.

#13 TIZTASTIC (8-1): Consistent son of Tiz the Law has hit the board in a trio of graded runs in succession and is an exotics player from off the pace in a field with plenty of early speed. Asmussen charge drilled a bullet five-eighths in preparation for this tilt and will have Jose Ortiz in the silks.

#14 HOT GUNNER (50-1): Dark bay gelding has not been a factor in his four prior stakes races and gets the dreaded outside post for this event. Harry Hernandez will pilot the outsider.
