#1 BIG MUCH – Debut victor for Norm Casse has an obvious affinity for the surface and will make his stakes and two-turn debut in the contest. The Outwork homebred came home quickly in his initial run to date, and he wouldn’t be a major surprise from the advantageous rail slot with Florent Geroux in the irons.
#2 BRACKET BUSTER – Victoria Oliver pupil showed vast improvement going long at Keeneland most recently when breaking his maiden at a big price. The son of exciting young sire Vekoma will need another forward move to make the frame in the race, but he is trending in the right direction and could grab a share with Axel Concepcion taking the reins.
#3 BABY BOAT – $100,000 son of Vino Rosso has dominated a pair of fields in succession at Hawthorne and gets a class test while making his local debut. Jimmy DiVito trainee has rallied from off of the pace on both occasions, and I expect him to be doing the same on Sunday under the guidance of Gerardo Corrales.
#4 SANDMAN – Win threat from the Mark Casse shedrow was a fine maiden winner at the Spa two back, prior to finishing fifth in the Iroquois S. (G3) on the oval. The $1.2 million two-year-old purchase has worked well in the interim, and I expect major improvement from the colt beneath Brian Hernandez Jr.
#2 Sandman graduates in the opener at Saratoga under @davisjockey for trainer Mark Casse! 🤩 @westpointtbred

#5 TIZTASTIC – Tiz the Law colt bagged the lucrative Juvenile Mile S. at Kentucky Downs in his latest appearance and will move back to the main strip on this day. The $335,000 yearling purchase ran evenly in his debut on the dirt at Saratoga in the summer, and he obviously has the class to be a contender against this group, too. Cristian Torres inherits the ride.
#6 REACH FOR THE ROSE – First of two for conditioner Saffie Joseph broke his maiden by more than five lengths at Saratoga in his lone run on the dirt in advance of this event. The juvenile son of Audible has shown declining form in a trio of turf races since his tally, however, and the May foal would be a surprise to me.
#7 DAPPER MOON – Interesting sort from the barn of Dallas Stewart has good early speed and had the misfortune of chasing East Avenue in the Breeders’ Futurity (G1) at Keeneland when he was ultimately fourth. Gray Malibu Moon colt flashed plenty of potential in his pair of sprint runs at Saratoga prior to that, and he will be forwardly placed throughout this contest, as well. Ricardo Santana Jr. retains the ride.
#8 COMES A TIME – Top pick was all heart in graduating at Aqueduct at first asking and could be a nice one with additional seasoning for trainer Brad Cox. The dark bay son of Not This Time is cut out to run long, and I expect him to prosper on the sprint-to-route move on Sunday. Luis Saez will be in the irons and will likely have the Kentucky-bred in the second flight early on.
#9 FORGED STEEL – Vekoma colt romped on the Gulfstream Park turf two back like a good thing, prior to showing little as the 8-5 favorite in the subsequent Juvenile Mile at Kentucky Downs in his latest offering. The $190,000 purchase moves back to the dirt against this cast, and he will be a major player if he runs to his wicked bullet morning drill at Gulfstream Park two works back. Tyler Gaffalione stays in the silks.
#10 SOVEREIGNTY – Into Mischief colt has displayed a fine turn of foot in both of his career runs to date and seems likely to move forward on the move to two turns for Bill Mott. The Godolphin homebred just missed while closing fast in a one-mile tilt in his most recent appearance, and the February foal will be a major factor in the race if he can overcome the widest post beneath Junior Alvarado.
