Titans vs. Jaguars: NFL Week 5 betting odds, preview, and pick
The Tennessee Titans will try to get back on track, on the road against the winless Jacksonville Jaguars, in Week 5 NFL action Sunday.
Let's take a look at the matchup and make some picks.
Titans reeling from defeat to Jets
The Jets were the only team, through three weeks in the NFL, to not hold a lead, and that ended when they took a 10-9 edge late in the third quarter last week against the Titans. New York won the game in overtime, following a missed 49-yard field goal from Titans kicker Ryan Bullock. The Titans even needed a touchdown, with just 16 seconds left in regulation, to force overtime.
The Titans passing attack struggled, with receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones both sidelined with injuries. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 298 yards and a touchdown, but he was sacked seven times. Running back Derrick Henry rushed 33 times for 157 yards and a score, but the offense stalled out numerous times.
“It's about getting open, running the correct route. It's about protection holding up. And it's about the quarterback getting rid of the football."#Titans have surrendered 17 sacks, more than any other team.

It's not just the O-line that's responsible:https://t.co/PdlMtbgiq9
Tennessee did not turn the ball over for the first time all season, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win.
At 2-2, the Titans lead the woeful AFC South, but they need to figure out how to protect their quarterback. Tennessee has allowed 17 sacks through four games, after it game up 24 all of last year.
If both receivers are out again, I expect to see Henry get another hefty workload against a team he has owned throughout his career.
.@Titans QB @ryantannehill1 has a 9-2 record in 11 games vs AFC South opponents since he became the team’s starter in 2019. He’s been really good in those games. pic.twitter.com/7xq3ijh8wL

Jaguars dealing with issues on and off the field
The Jaguars suffered a heartbreaking defeat last week in Cincinnati. Rather than going home with the team, head coach Urban Meyer decided to hang back in Ohio and get himself in trouble. Now, the team owner has stated he must “regain their trust,” while his players are openly mocking him in practice.

Rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence played by far his best game in Cincinnati and didn't commit a turnover, after multiple interceptions in each of his first three games. He threw for 204 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground, while running back James Robinson rushed for 78 yards and two scores on 18 carries.

However, wide receiver DJ Chark was lost on the fourth play of the game with a fractured ankle, which led to a serious reduction in targets for Marvin Jones.
The Jaguars have yet to score more than 21 points this season, but they will hope to do so against a Titans defense that has given up at least 25 in three of their four games. However, Jacksonville’s defense must also improve, as it registered just one sack and two hurries against the Bengals and has forced just one turnover through four games.

Titans and Jaguars betting trends

The Titans will bounce back
These teams aren't very good right now, but the Titans have the better team and a coach.
While the Jaguars run defense has been better than last year, it has always struggled with Henry, which is a big reason why the Titans have won seven of the last eight between these teams. The Titans have also have covered against the Jaguars in six of those meetings.

I would pair the Titans -4.5 with Over 47.5 for a same-game combo, as these defenses have forced a combined three turnovers this season and have allowed a combined 56.6 points per game.
