Code of Honor
Code of Honor finished second in the Champagne Stakes and won the Fountain of Youth S. at Gulfstream Park. He is trained by Shug McGaughey and ran third in the Florida Derby in his previous start.
Country House
The Bill Mott-trained Country House has yet to break through against stakes company but has done well in his past three graded attempts, including a second in Fair Grounds' Risen Star Stakes (G2) and third-placing in the Arkansas Derby (G1) at Oaklawn Park.
Cutting Humor
The Dark Bay son of First Samurai is a Todd Pletcher trainee for owner Starlight Racing. Winning the Sunland Park Derby last out, he finished seventh in the Southwest S. at Oaklawn Park.
Game Winner
Bob Baffert trained Game Winner won the American Pharoah S., Breeders' Cup Juvenile and ran second in the Rebel S. and Santa Anita Derby.
Gray Magician
Gray Magician ran fourth in the Sham Stakes (G3) to kick off his sophomore campaign and followed two races later with a runner-up effort in the Miracle Wood Stakes at Laurel Park. The gray colt earned his shot at Kentucky Derby glory by crossing the Atlantic and finishing second in the U.A.E. Derby (G2) at Meydan.
Haikal
Trained by Kiaran McLaughlin for Shadwell Stable, the son of Daaher won the Gotham S. at Aqueduct and hit the board for third in the Wood Memorial in his previous effort.
Improbable
Improbable's last win was in the Los Alamitos Futurity in December, but he has finished second to competitive fields in the Rebel S. and Arkansas Derby. Trained by Bob Baffert for familiar connections of WinStar Farm, China Horse Club and Starlight Racing.
Long Range Toddy
A Steve Asmussen trained son of Take Charge Indy, the Rebel S. winner has run well in most of his starts, but crossed the line in sixth place last out in the Arkansas Derby.
Master Fencer (JPN)
Master Fencer (JPN) carries the hopes of an entire nation after accepting an invitation through the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby. The chestnut son of Just a Way will make his first start outside of his native country on the first Saturday in May.
Maximum Security
Maximum Security is trained by Jason Servis and owned by Gary and Mary West. The Florida Derby winner is by Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner New Year's Day.
Omaha Beach
Trained by Richard Mandella and owned by Fox Hill Farms, Inc. Omaha Beach is rising with wins in the Rebel S. and Arkansas Derby.
Plus Que Parfait
Brendan Walsh took Plus Que Parfait across the ocean to win the UAE Derby in Dubai, but he also contested the Risen Star, Lecomte and Kentucky Jockey Club S. Plus Que Parfait ran second at Churchill Downs in the Kentucky Jockey Club in November.
Roadster
A Bob Baffert trainee by multiple grade I stakes winner Quality Road, Roadster won the Santa Anita Derby in his last start.
Signalman
Signalman ran second in the Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland as another Road to the Kentucky Derby contender for trainer Kenny McPeek.
Spinoff
Trainer Todd Pletcher saddles Spinoff in an attempt to earn his first stakes victory in the biggest race in the country. The Hard Spun colt finished third in the Saratoga Special Stakes (G2) last August and enters the Kentucky Derby off a close second in the Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds in late March.
Tax
Tax has made money in all five career starts. Most notable accomplishments are a third in the Remsen S., first in the Withers S. and second in the Wood Memorial S.
Tacitus
Tacitus has won both the Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct and the Tampa Bay Derby in Florida for trainer Bill Mott.
Vekoma
The Chestnut colt by Candy Ride (ARG) has won the Blue Grass S. at Keeneland and ran third in the Fountain of Youth S.
War of Will
Trainer Mark Casse has campaigned this talented son of War Front across Kentucky and Louisiana with 8 starts under his belt. Wins in the Lecomte S. and Risen Star S. led to a tough ninth place finish in the Louisiana Derby.
Win Win Win
Second in the Blue Grass S. in his previous start, the Dark Bay son of Hat Trick (JPN) has Kentucky Derby familiar face Smarty Jones on his dam's side, Miss Smarty Pants. Trained by Michael Trombetta, the colt has also won the Pasco S. and run third in the Tampa Bay Derby.
