The Kentucky Oaks serves as a prelude to the Kentucky Derby, running a day later on the First Saturday in May. But, Oaks Day stands on its own merit as a premium American sporting event and has a plethora of graded stakes and quality racing on it's feature under card.

The centerpiece of a stakes-packed Friday program, the Kentucky Oaks attracts a top-class field of three-year-old fillies every year.

More than 100,000 people will pack the stands at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Oaks Day, regardless of weather conditions. Horse players can expect to witness contentious fields filled with lucrative wagering opportunities.

Kentucky Oaks Day handle totaled $46.1 million in 2015, with $15.2 million wagered on the Kentucky Oaks alone.
